沿革[edit]
博雅地名网记，金锡都设于熙宁年间。新中国成立初期这里属六区陶河乡，公社化后归陶南大队，1973年转入桐埔大队；1987年设金锡村民委员会，1990年又自桐埔管理区分出，设金锡管理区，1998年定为村委会。[2]民间有「未有金锡都，先有谢王吴」的说法，指谢姓等居民早已在此定居。[3]
人口与经济[edit]
约202户900人有户籍，约42户150人常住；耕地约768亩，山地约7500亩，稻田约840亩，以林区种植为发展方向。[1]
人物[edit]
镇政府的历史概述提到：古石村的吴大妹在1926年加入农民自卫军，1928年于汕尾就义；金锡村的赤卫队长谢庆加也牺牲在大革命时期。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2019年12月，进入国家林业和草原局公布的第二批「国家森林乡村」名单；2023年5月，得名「2022年广东省卫生村」。[2]
