杨南村是陶河镇东南部的行政村，从镇政府往东南约5公里即到。村的东邻为赤坑镇茅湖村，西邻金锡村，北与杨西、杨东两村相连，南界东涌镇。[1]
沿革[edit]
清乾隆年间的《海丰县志》把此地记在金锡乡杨古埔名下。[2]新中国成立初期并入六区杨埔乡；1952年单设杨南乡，归可塘管辖，次年转赤坑区；此后几次并入杨北乡或杨埔大队，又几次分出，1965年起以杨南大队之名延续。[2]1984年改乡，1987年建镇后为杨南村委会。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
村内自然村包括高湖、贤厝坑、洪厝岭、笏仔埔、新乡、长春，合计6个；约522户2460人有户籍，实际常住约169户500人。全村地域约10360亩，耕地1647亩，稻田约1300亩，还种柑橘和火龙果。[1]火龙果让杨南村在2020年8月进入首批「广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年3月，该村得名「2023年广东省卫生村」。[2]
