城东社区是兴宁市兴田街道的社区，在兴宁城区东片，辖7个村民小组。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

因位于兴城的最东部而得名。[1]新中国成立初，这里归第一区（宁中区）的佛岭乡；1959至1960年间并入兴城镇公社，称东郊大队，1961年自东郊大队划出，成为城东大队。之后叫法依次是城东办事处（1983年）、城东管理区（1989年）、城东居委会（1999年），到2004年定为城东社区居委会。[1]

人口与荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网记，社区在册7399户、15691人。[1]名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单于2019年9月公布。[1]2017年5月，社区又被认定为国家级充分就业社区（第四批）。[1]
