步上村是梅州市蕉岭县南礤镇中部的行政村，面积8.02平方千米，耕地765.49亩，下分18个村民小组。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网转述的村情，村子正处在三条路的交会口，往梅县松源镇、南磜镇、北磜镇各约五千米；从前人们靠步行，而客家人把十华里叫作一「步」，村名由此而来。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村内有346户、1367人（未注明年份）。烟叶是主要经济作物，毛竹、林木、烤烟和红菇构成村集体收入，上一年全村农村经济总收入608万元。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名据说很早就有，一直沿用。1950年这里是南磜乡所辖的步上村，1952年一度叫步上乡。人民公社时期属梅东公社，为步上生产大队，1961年转归南磜公社。1983年设南磜区，随之为步上乡；之后依次改为村委会（1987年）、管理区（1990年），1999年起又叫村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月公布的「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单上有步上村。[1]
