地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网说，村子早先叫云溪村：几条小溪汇成一条河，河两岸山高林密，云雾常年不散。宋元时期，这一带河岸的人家种苎麻、纺织，上游称上苎，中游在大神坝，到这里已是下游，所以又叫下苎。到了1930年代，龙姓第19世的文光觉得读书文化可贵，村名便改作文贵。[1]百度百科则记作原名下苎村、别称云溪村，两说在先后顺序上略有出入。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
土地改革后，文贵同泗水的育新、育才一起组成育文乡（1953年），1954年的并乡又使它自成一片。公社时期它是文贵大队，“文化大革命”中曾改名新生大队。此后依次是小乡（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区（1993年），1999年重回村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村里种水稻、玉米和仙人草，林业以林木为主；水果有脐橙、沙田柚、三华李等。上一年农村经济总收入760万元。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
普滩桥建于清代，2017年3月24日被梅州市人民政府列入「第五批梅州市文物保护单位」。[3]百度百科称，公路沿村东通向泗水镇，普滩有水运通往蕉岭长潭。[2]
