大新村在平远县泗水镇的东南部，东面是长潭水库，西接梅畲，南连成文，北靠木联。[1]23个村民小组，317户共1268人；村域23平方公里，耕地1080亩。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村名出自1950年代：大同片（下局、樟坑塘）取“大”，创新片（黄竹塘、野猪窝一带）取“新”，合称大新。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

大新乡之名1949年就有了，1953年范围扩大，木联、大畲都并入其中。公社时期一分为二，是大同、创新两个大队。其后的名称依次为小乡（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区（1989年），1999年定为村民委员会。[1]大新村名列「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的2018年度广东省名单（2019年9月公布）。[1]

经济[edit]

山林面积约23万亩；出产稻谷、烤烟、花生、黄豆和蔬菜，山上主产杉木和阔叶林，是镇内木材产区之一；还出三华李、橘子、蜂蜜、茶油、仙人草。上一年农村经济总收入613万元。[1]
