金田村是平远县泗水镇的行政村，辖17个村民小组，在册329户、1299人，总面积23.5平方公里，耕地812.8亩。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子由黄竹逻和田坑两处合成，起初称黄田。1984年，因同县河头乡也有个黄田，为免混淆，改“黄”取金色之意，定名金田。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年，这里与上举镇的符坑组成符田乡。1961年泗水公社从东石分出后，金田分设符坑、田坑、外片三个大队；1975年符坑划归上举公社。1983年恢复乡建制时叫黄田乡，次年改金田乡。1987年改村民委员会，1989年称管理区，1999年重新叫村民委员会。[1]

种植仙人草、烤烟、水稻、花生；村的特色收入来自水稻、沙田柚和木材。上一年农村经济总收入120万元。[1]
