该村靠近华东、华南两村，取两村共有的「华」字，名为双华。[1]1949年称双华乡，1958年设双华大队，1983年称乡政府，1989年称管理区，1999年定名双华村委会。[1]

人口经济[edit]

在册580户、3323人，上一年农村经济总收入1439万元。[1]五华县于2023年2月授予其2022年度文明村镇称号。[1]
