地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网记载，村中有一道山岗叫长岗岭，岭上、岭下各有一村，分称上岗、下岗，「岗」与「光」同音，两村合称双光。[1]

概况[edit]

据博雅地名网村情（未注明年份），全村分32个村民小组，在册660户、4112人，总面积16.8平方公里，耕地约1800亩，主要作物是水稻，上一年农村经济总收入1554万元。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载沿革，村在解放前叫黄竹洋，1950年起称黄朱洋乡；1958年后改称双光大队，1968年后成为郭田公社的双光管理区；1984年以后是郭田镇属下的双光乡，1999年以来为双光村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
