据博雅地名网记载，宋代有郭姓人家在此开垦出良田，因此得名郭田。[1]

据博雅地名网村情（未注明年份），全村分35个村民小组，在册845户、4724人，总面积16.3平方公里，耕地约2200亩，主要作物是水稻，上一年农村经济总收入1715万元。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载沿革，民国时期郭田一带属郭田保，1949年以后划归帽山乡；公社化的1958年并入杏田大队，到1970年才单独设郭田大队，1999年起称村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年8月，入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，品种为红薯。[1]
