城镇村位于华城镇旧城区，村内有华城城隍庙和华城东征军政治部旧址（宗圣祠），长乐学宫也在其境内。[1][2][3]

地名由来与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，宋熙宁四年（1071年）设长乐县并修筑城墙，解放后以城墙为界，称「城镇」。城镇村的建制变化不多：1988年称城区大队，十年后（1998年）改为城镇管理区，翌年成为城镇村委会，一直如此。[1]

文物古迹[edit]

华城城隍庙在十字街西，由主簿李仁在明洪武四年（1371年）创建，明清两朝屡有重修和扩建。现存三进三开间砖木建筑，曾在1939年被日军飞机炸毁，自1986年起由信众集资修复。2010年12月，它被列为县级文物保护单位；农历五月十八日是传统庙会的日子。[2]华城东征军政治部旧址（宗圣祠）建于清代，2015年2月5日由梅州市人民政府公布为第三批梅州市文物保护单位。[1]长乐学宫在五华中学校园内，始建于宋代，明成化五年（1469年）建成现址，1989年公布为广东省文物保护单位。[3]

概况与荣誉[edit]

村辖15个村民小组，页面所载在册645户、2121人，耕地229亩，土地总面积0.4平方公里。2017年10月列入第一批广东省卫生村名单，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
