村中溪坑两旁长有可作染料的茜草，故称茜坑[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
此地1987年以前归南溪大队；撤社建镇时分设茜坑管理区；1999年建制为茜坑村村民委员会[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
村情材料记载，在册188户、964人，总面积6.9平方千米，耕地约310亩；农户靠水稻、生猪和外出打工谋生，村集体靠出租土地取得收入；上一年农村经济总收入296万元[1]。
