西河镇是广东省梅州市大埔县东北部的一个镇，与福建省永定县相邻，旧称漳溪、永安社，辖漳溪社区和27个行政村。[1][2]镇内有全国重点文物保护单位大埔光禄第，是清末南洋实业家张弼士的故居所在；北塘、车龙两村列入中国传统村落名录。[3][5][10][12][13]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名与河流有关：漳溪河曲折向西，流过茶阳县城的西门之外，因而又叫西门河，西河之名由此而来。[1]明嘉靖年间，这一带分属漳溪、永安二社；清乾隆时称保安、维新二甲，民国沿用此制。[2]

1949年成立西河区；1958年改为西河公社；1961年岩上从中划出，另立公社；1978年东塘亦划出自成一社，至1983年重新并回西河区；1986年改建镇。[1][2]2004年10月，大埔县撤销岩上镇，将其并入西河镇，因此横溪、南丰、石涵、南桥、工农、双门前、水祝、乌石坪、岩下等村原属岩上镇。[4][2]

地理环境[edit]

西河镇在大埔县境东北部，东邻福建省永定县，距县政府驻地湖寮约15公里。博雅地名网所载的面积为127.1平方公里，这是并入岩上镇之前的概况，当时辖17个村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2000年第五次人口普查时，西河镇常住人口14746人；2010年第六次人口普查，并入岩上镇后的西河镇常住人口为24539人。[4]据博雅地名网引述，第七次全国人口普查（2020年）结果为1.58万人，居大埔县各乡镇第7位。[2]

经济[edit]

20世纪80年代的概况称，镇内农业以水稻为主，是大埔县的烤烟基地。[1]近年以蜜柚见长：2021年9月，西河镇入选第三批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇，产业为蜜柚。[2]

另有荣誉：2020年2月被授予「2019年度广东省卫生镇」称号；2021年1月列入第二批广东省旅游风情小镇名单。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

大埔光禄第（张弼士故居）在车龙村，坐南向北，背靠漳溪河，建于清光绪三十四年（1908年），为土木结构的三进院落府第式四横一围楼，有18个厅、13个天井、99间房，另设花园、果园、书斋和私人码头，前后历时11年建成。[5]百度百科记其占地面积为4336平方米，建筑面积为4698平方米，维基百科和博雅地名网则记建筑面积为4180平方米，各处说法不一。[5][6][3]2019年10月7日，国务院核定其为第八批全国重点文物保护单位；维基百科称它2013年成为国家3A级景区。[5][6]

北塘村是中国传统村落，村中有受祜堂、绍知堂、志事堂等老屋；辅德堂建于清宣统二年（1910年），为张弼士的管家、侨商张韶光所建，格局大小与光禄第相近；振德楼、宜斋公祠是梅州市文物保护单位。[3][12]漳北村有大埔县文物保护单位张薇故居（仲裕楼），上黄砂村有县文物保护单位寅弼楼。[3]

博雅地名网的概况另记，镇内有唐代所建的赤蕨寺（灵觉寺），相传是「惭愧祖师」潘了拳修行之处。[1]

著名人物[edit]

  • 张弼士（张振勋，1841年—1916年），出生于车龙村，早年赴南洋经商，后创办烟台张裕酿酒公司，曾任清朝驻槟城副领事、驻新加坡总领事。[7][11]生年一说1840年，各处不一。[11]
  • 黄世途（1901年—1960年），字伯舆，下黄砂村人，云南陆军讲武堂第15期毕业，曾任国民革命军旅长、广东省军管区司令部副司令。[8]
  • 张善铭（1900年—1928年），出生于黄砂村，1921年加入中国共产党，曾任中共东江特委书记，1928年牺牲。[9]
