瑶美村是梅州市梅县区南口镇瑶上片的行政村，始建于明代，原名瑶尾，1953年改名瑶美，2019年6月列入第五批中国传统村落名录。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

百度百科记，村建于明代，原叫瑶尾，到1953年才改名瑶美；博雅地名网则说，村名来自这里是瑶上较偏远、山青水绿的小山村。[1][2]

1953年土地改革时，村建制分为新东、新西、瑶美三个生产行政村；1958年8月成立南口人民公社，原自然村分为新东、新西、瑶美三个片。[1]

住房和城乡建设部2018年12月拟将瑶美村列入第五批中国传统村落，次年6月正式公布；村中现存传统客家民居22座。[2]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，全村户籍人口2320人，耕地1164亩，以种植火龙果为主，并引入农业公司建立产业基地，村民通过土地流转和就近务工增收。[2]
