竹香村是梅州市梅县区南口镇的行政村，旧称赤竹庵，2019年列入第五批中国传统村落名录，村中传统民居共17座。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村因庵堂闻名而称赤竹庵，后改称赤竹乡，再把「乡」字改作「香」，称竹香村；百度百科记载，这个名称在明嘉靖年间已有，民国时期更名。[1][2]

竹香大队存在于1964年至1987年，之后到1999年是竹香管理区，再往后为村委会。[1]

2019年6月，该村进入第五批中国传统村落名录；2022年1月，省乡村振兴局把它定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]

经济[edit]

百度百科称，全村户籍人口1089人，共14个村民小组，耕地460亩，山林地9000亩，主产水稻和梅州金柚，2018年经济总收入1795万元。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中传统民居合计17座，百度百科点名的围龙屋有塘门口、岭下贡元两座。[2]
