读光村是惠东县平山街道下辖的行政村，原属多祝镇，2017年10月划入平山街道，以种植茨菇入选省级专业村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

旧时村边有西枝江的一条支流，“读”与“独”谐音，因而叫读光。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

读光大队是1977年从维德大队分设的，1983年被并进维德乡；撤乡后，据惠东府函〔1987〕13号文，1987年3月重设读光村委，1990年改管理区，1998年改称村委会。2017年10月，经粤民函〔2017〕2295号文由多祝镇划入平山街道。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，读光村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年9月入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产品是茨菇。[1]
