社区因惠园路贯穿其中而得名。2020年11月20日，经惠东府函〔2020〕600号文批准，析出惠园社区居民委员会。[1]

社区荣誉[edit]

2022年9月，惠园社区被评为「惠州市2022年度绿色社区」。[1]
