祥岗村是惠州市博罗县长宁镇的行政村，属“村庄”类，1989年起设村民委员会。[1]

地名由来[edit]

传说先人靠养鹅过活，把鹅四处放牧，放到此处鹅长得特别好，于是留下居住，日子过得吉祥，子孙兴旺，所以叫祥岗，意思是“吉祥的小山岗”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

祥岗在清代归博罗县石湾巡司署管，民国时属博罗县。新中国成立之初设四区长宁乡，1958年为长宁区祥岗乡；到1986年改叫长宁镇祥岗管理区，1989年起称祥岗村民委员会。[1]
