麻陂社区是博罗县麻陂镇的镇中心社区，镇政府所在的圩镇就在这里。清初这里没有集市；康熙年间（1662年起）外来居民大量迁入，陆续开店成市，起初叫葵子墟，后因以产销黄麻为主、又筑有水陂，改称黄麻陂圩，新中国成立后简称麻陂。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代这里归苏州巡司署的长平都管；1938年划在第七区甲乡。建国之初属三区麻陂乡，其后区的归属数次调整：1950年3月到一区，1953年3月到第二区，1955年10月又回到一区（石坝区）。[1]1956年11月，实行大乡制，撤区并乡后另立麻陂乡；1958年10月并入杨显公社，设麻陂管理区；翌年3月归新设的麻陂公社。此后，1983年11月归麻陂区管，到1986年才有麻陂社区居民委员会，一直沿用。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，麻陂社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
