九市社区是九市镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区，临321国道，距镇政府驻地约200米，2001年4月成立。[1]

据博雅地名网，社区有居民1873户、3225人（该页未注明年份），分林场、街道、中学、下圩四个片区。[1] 居委会除上级拨付的办公经费外没有别的经济收入，居民多种植蔬菜、砂糖桔等经济作物。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区所在的九市圩建于清顺治十五年（1658年）。据该页，乡人李九功最先在此开设店铺，后来铺户渐多而成集市，初名九功圩；康熙十七年（1678年），圩旁青山改称九官山，圩也随之称九官圩；1951年定名九市圩。[1]
