悦城镇在广东省肇庆市德庆县东南部，西江北岸、悦城河汇入西江之处，东邻高要区禄步镇，西接九市镇和凤村镇，北靠播植镇，南面隔江与云浮市相望。镇政府驻悦城圩镇，距县城约45千米。辖1个社区、15个行政村。[1] 镇内有全国重点文物保护单位悦城龙母祖庙。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

悦城之名与唐代的县治有关：唐天宝元年（742年）改乐城县为悦城县，因“乐”“悦”音近，取愉悦之意。[3][4] 清代这里的圩市叫水口圩，得名于悦城河与西江汇合的水口。[4]

明清至民国初期，境域称悦城乡。此后的区划是：1936年归第七区，1942年改归第二区，解放初期在第二、第三、第四区之间几经变动，至1953年定为悦城乡。1958年10月曾并入上游公社，次年6月另立悦城公社。1983年建悦城区，到1986年撤区设镇。[3][5]

地理环境[edit]

《百度百科》载全镇行政区域面积206.23平方千米，亚热带季风气候；[1] 博雅地名网引用的旧资料则作221平方千米，其中山地19.76万亩、耕地2万亩。[6] 321国道穿镇而过，省道悦怀线通往北面的凤村一带，距肇庆约51千米。[6]

人口民族[edit]

截至2019年末，全镇户籍人口37240人。[1] 第七次全国人口普查（2020年）的结果为2.66万人，在德庆县各乡镇街道中居第2位。[4] 旧资料记1998年前后的总人口为31811人。[6]

经济[edit]

1998年的旧资料记，全镇社会总产值40739.4万元，工业以建材为主：西江北岸沿公路有长约10千米的石灰产区，年产石灰100万吨，另有中外合资的悦城水泥厂。[6] 2019年，全镇有工业企业56个，其中规模以上12个。[1] 各村多种沙糖桔和贡柑，关塘坪村有全镇万亩沙糖桔示范基地。[7]

2014年7月，七部委把悦城镇定为全国重点镇；2023年10月，评为广东省森林城镇；2026年5月，又进入广东省首批现代化建设中心镇的名单。[4]

文化[edit]

悦城“龙母诞”庙会是国家级非物质文化遗产，活动集中在农历五月初一至初八的龙母生辰诞和八月初一至初八的得道诞，初八为正日；诞期有西江上游各地的贺诞船队聚集在悦城河段。[8]

名胜古迹[edit]

悦城龙母祖庙是祀奉龙母的庙宇，在悦城河汇入西江的地方，又称孝通庙，列为第五批全国重点文物保护单位（2001年），并为国家4A级旅游景区。庙现存建筑多为清光绪年间所建，主体为砖、木、石结构，占地约13668平方米，有石牌坊、山门、香亭、正殿、妆楼、东裕堂、西客厅等。[2][9][10] 它与佛山祖庙、广州陈家祠合称岭南建筑三瑰宝。[9]

罗洪村的罗洪莫氏大宗祠属第九批广东省文物保护单位，罗洪村为第三批中国传统村落。[11][12]
