西围社区位于肇庆市高要区金利镇城区中心，原为西围村委会，面积约5.33平方千米，辖15个村民小组，博雅地名网载总人口3736人。[1]

博雅地名网称，西围是金利镇工业较发达的村，人均收入居前列。主要产品有电池、不锈钢制品和弹子铰，销往全国各地及港澳台；商业和餐饮服务业发展较快；农业有优质稻、蔬菜种植和罗氏虾、四大家鱼养殖。社区距广肇高速出入口0.8公里。[1]

2019年9月，西围社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]

据百度百科，金利龙舟大赛的举办地点为金利镇西围涌。[2]

沿革[edit]

1952年成立西围乡；1955年办农业合作社，计有梓里一社、梓里二社、江边社、伍中社；1958年合为西围大队，隶金星公社，次年归金利公社。[1]

1968年同金利大队并称东方红大队，1980年又各自分立。1983年大队改乡，1987年改为村委会，1989年称管理区，1998年称西围村民委员会，后改称西围社区居民委员会。[1]
