旺茅村是广东省茂名市信宜市贵子镇所辖的行政村，位于镇的南部[1]。村情介绍称其辖4个村民小组，全村总面积7.5平方千米，耕地769亩，主要经济作物为木薯、三华李、八角、速生桉[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：古时这里是一片黄茅草地。传说有位风水先生在旺茅水口村内修建麒麟庙时时自报庙号，称自己是信宜县贵子乡旺茅麒麟庙的枫木社主，村民遂以旺茅为村名。[1]

民国时期属贵子乡第八堡，解放初期叫八二村。1955年旺茅与贵子、石子、迴龙、石马五村同归贵子管区，1958年办人民公社时旺茅单独设大队。1983年建乡，随后几经易名：1987年成为村民委员会，1989年为管理区办事处，1999年重新定名旺茅村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

旺茅村地形为低丘陵，气候属南亚热带季风类型，年均气温约20至21度，年降雨量约2100毫米[1]。村内在册199户，人口981人[1]。耕地769亩，经济作物以木薯、三华李、八角、速生桉为主[1]。

村情介绍称，全村有400人外出务工，种植经济作物2200多亩。[2]
