长塘社区在信宜市区西部，属主城区[1]。当地说法是长塘铺一带过去有一排很长的鱼塘，由此得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地自1958年起为长塘大队，其后至1983年称长塘乡，再到1987年设村委会，又于1989年称管理区，至1999年重称村委会，2005年3月21日实行村改居，改为长塘社区居民委员会[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，社区分16个村民小组，登记1505户，人口5950人，耕地750亩，种水稻、荔枝，汽车运输是特色收入之一；其上一年农村经济总收入为5872万元[1]。

荣誉[edit]

长塘社区于2021年12月被广东省爱卫会评为「2021年广东省卫生村」[1]。
