1958年公社化时成立兰山公社，隶属中垌区；1962年改称兰山大队，1983年设兰山村委会，1989年称管理区办事处，1999年改称村民委员会，2003年起归中垌镇兰山办事处管辖。[1]

据该站，村里主要经济作物为水稻、花生、蔬菜、蚕桑，特色收入来自养猪养鱼；上一年（未注明年份）农村经济总收入2020万元。[1]

村子毗邻兰山圩，并发展山地养鸡业。[1]
