1953年化县八区所辖的乡里已有东京塘乡。本村在1964年划入中垌，当时叫东京塘大队，之后1983年改设乡，1987年改称村民委员会，1989年设管理区办事处，1999年又改回村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
据该站，村里主要经济作物为水稻、花生、蔬菜，特色收入来自养猪、龙眼、荔枝；上一年（未注明年份）农村经济总收入2560万元。[1]
村里引进外资办了一家木业切片厂，山地种有龙眼、荔枝约1000亩。[1]
