高峰的名字早在1932年就见于乡名（见中垌镇的历史沿革）。本村1958年称高峰大队，1983年改属高峰乡，1987年镇建立后称高峰村委会，1989年设管理区办事处，1999年改称村民委员会。[1]

据该站，村里主要经济作物为水稻、花生、蔬菜、蚕桑，特色收入来自淡水养殖、养猪、毛豆；上一年（未注明年份）农村经济总收入2890万元。[1]
