据博雅地名网所载村情，全村登记1250户、6249人，面积4.2平方公里，耕地2470亩；年平均气温约22摄氏度，年降雨量约1800毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。[1]

种植水稻、玉米、红薯、花生和北运菜等；村情页给出的农村经济总收入是11492万元，指“上一年”，具体年份未注明。[1]

村里每年种植香蕉和甘蔗八百多亩，香蕉产业发展较快。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国后期属南岐乡。后来1953年2月属化县第一区长岐乡。后来同庆区东安乡（1957年）、东安公社（1958年）。后来1963年8月设塘北大队。后来1983年称塘北乡。1987年2月成立塘北村民委员会。后来1989年成立塘北管理区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月评为「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
