历史沿革[edit]
双塘本在茂名县境内，1958年10月划给化州县；1961年设双塘小公社，隶属吴川县的长岐区；1964年改为大队，1965年隶属浅水公社。1983年为乡委会，1987年为管区，1998年起为村委会[1]。
村情[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，村内耕地2136多亩；村里的学校历经改建扩建，到2005年校舍建筑面积为2680平方米[2]。双塘村在2018年度评选中被列为「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布），2021年1月又列入「湛江市2020年度全市文明村」[1]。
