覃巴镇是广东省湛江市吴川市东南部的镇，面积76.99平方千米，东北同茂名市茂南区接壤，西北沿袂花江，南临南海；辖15个行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1947年以前，覃巴一带归茂名县管辖；1948年设覃巴乡，隶梅茂县。[1][2]此后几经调整：1950年称第一区，1952年称第二区并属吴梅县，1953年划入吴川县，1957年设覃巴区，1958年成立覃巴公社，当时隶属电白县，1961年起重归吴川县。[2]1979年公社一分为二，另立王村港公社；覃巴在1983年复称区，1987年撤区建镇。[1][2]

镇名取自镇政府所在的覃巴圩。[2]

地理环境[edit]

覃巴镇位于吴川市东部，距市区约8公里，属亚热带季风气候。[1][2]325国道从镇中横穿而过，梅兰公路、梅吉公路也经过境内。[2]

人口民族[edit]

2019年末全镇户籍人口92306人；[1]据第七次全国人口普查结果，镇人口约6.38万人，在吴川市各街道乡镇中排第6位。[2]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，2019年覃巴镇税收3785万元，固定资产投资24.55亿元，主导产业肉牛的年产值为10.22亿元。[1]博雅地名网称，镇办企业的产品以家电、建材、针织手套和成衣为主；农业有水稻、香蕉、蔬菜、水果，渔业以深海和浅海捕捞为主，出产石斑、龙虾、大虾、膏蟹、马鲛、海蜇。[2]土特产有覃巴芝麻、覃巴黑豆。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

吉兆湾旅游度假区在镇域东南沿海，是广东省人民政府于1994年批准设立的省级度假区，规划面积13.7平方公里，岸线11.2公里，由吉兆、覃流、六鳌三个小区组成，现为国家3A级旅游景区。[3]吉兆、沙田、六鳌三村的海岸一带属该度假区。[3]博雅地名网还把鼎龙湾国际海洋度假区列为覃巴镇的景点；该度假区由鼎龙集团开发，在2020年被评为国家4A级旅游景区。[2][4]

荣誉[edit]

覃巴镇在2022年2月入选「湛江市十大“金点子”镇街」，2026年3月又被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[2]
