上榕村是吴川市覃巴镇的一个村委会，在吴川市东北约9公里处，北接电白，辖秦村、米历岭、上岭、覃静、上榕、中庸、下榕、埇尾8条自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

上榕原与新村同属一体：新村大队（1979年至1983年）、新村乡（至1987年）、新村管区（1987年至1988年），1998年起称新村村委会，直到2008年5月上榕自新村村委会分出，成立上榕村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

全村总人口6623人，7条自然村属革命老区村，耕地3012亩，农田在袂花江上游，灌溉方便，种山稻、花生、红薯、木薯。[1]工业有手套厂和轮机砖厂；水产方面有3个鱼苗养殖场、2000多亩淡水养殖水面；大小排灌站共10个。[1]辖区内设秦村小学、上榕小学、覃巴第三中学，另有一个农贸市场，村委办公楼在上榕村，梅兰公路贯穿各村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

上榕村于2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之中。[2]
