城东社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：位于吴川市城区东面，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

城东一带在1952至1957年隶属梅山大队；1958年划归大山江公社，设坡尾大队，1985年另成立坡尾村经济合作社；归梅菉街道管辖后，先设城东管区（1997年），1999年改为居委会。[1]

概况[edit]

城东社区在吴川市区东面，成立于1997年，面积1.2平方千米，约3900人，设2个居民小组。[1] 社区被评为湛江市特色文化村，2006年被评为湛江市文明社区。[1][2]

烂镬炒粉是社区的传统小食，被列为吴川四大名食之一；紫竹禅林和福英古庙已修葺。[2]

2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
