南山村属湛江市霞山区东新街道，早年归海头乡南丰营的南丰大队，1981年成立南山村委会[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1961年，这里是海头乡南丰营的南丰大队；1962至1980年改隶海头蔬菜公司，称南山大队。1981年起称南山村委会，仍在海头镇辖下。2003年辖区重划，从海头街道划出，转由东新街道管辖[1]。

2019年9月，南山村名列「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」[1]。
