据开平市人民政府网站2025年8月发布的村居简介，东和村户籍人口为964人，合262户；常住人口为301人，合101户。[1]

文化[edit]

村内有300多间侨房，建有10个主题不同的「侨心馆」和「蚬冈优品馆」；潭江堤岸的牛过塘古树公园是开平市首个侨文化公园。获评江门市十大美丽侨村（2021年）和江门市「红色美丽侨村」（2023年），并列入广东省「百千万工程」首批典型村。[2]村属的联登村约200多年前立村，村中的联登楼融合西式建筑特色与防御功能，近年按乡土风貌整治为乡村景观。[3]
