下湾村是广东省江门市开平市苍城镇的行政村，位于南门街一带，离镇政府约0.6公里。[1] 明弘治十七年（1504年），谢华南从南雄县迁来定居，随后甘、高、林三姓也陆续迁入；该地在小溪拐弯的下游，故名下湾。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，这里属开平县第一区城西乡；1949年后属十区，1955年划入苍城区，1962年起为苍城公社所辖，称下湾大队。[1] 1984年成立下湾乡人民政府，1987年改称下湾管理区，1999年起定名下湾村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

村分8个村民小组，510户、2215人，劳动力1100人，耕地1140亩（博雅地名网，未注年份）。[1] 村集体的收入以出租商店和土地为主，也靠水库、水塘卖水；村民则主要靠打工（200多人）、种养业和个体经营。[1]

2024年1月，下湾村入选2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）。[1] 它同样是镇里「数字乡村」积分制的试点。[2]
