沙塘镇是广东省江门市开平市北部的一个镇，镇政府设在沙塘圩，辖1个社区和15个行政村。[4] 镇内有镇海水（又称苍江）自北向南流过。[2][3]

镇域总面积约86平方千米。据博雅地名网转载的镇情介绍，全镇常住人口为28114人，户籍人口为33072人（该页未注明年份）。当地以大健康产业和建筑材料产业为两大产业方向。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在清康熙年间定名「长沙塘」，清代在开平县平康都的范围内。民国元年（1912年）以后归开平县第一区，1952年改属第十区。[2]

1958年，沙塘与苍城、张侨（今龙胜）、马冈三个乡合并，组成苍城公社；1962年从中分出，另设沙塘公社，公社管理机构驻在沙塘圩。[2][3] 1983年改设沙塘区，1987年撤区建镇。[2][3]

1996年的区划资料记载，当时镇下设16个管理区，即后来的行政村，名称依次为丽新、泰山、丽群、下丽、塘浪、西村，再到健丰、东方、联光、红岭、台洞，以及五星、锦屏、芙冈、清湖塘、朗畔，另设1个居民委员会；后来五星与锦屏合并为锦星村，行政村减为15个。[2][3]

沙塘镇在开平市北部。镇名的来由，当地解释为镇海水冲积出沙质的土地，沙多、鱼塘多，所以叫沙塘。[1][3] 镇政府驻沙塘圩东路。[3]

人口[edit]

区划资料给出的数据因年份而异：2008年末户籍人口为32039人，非农业人口只有1332人，面积记为98.1平方千米；后来的介绍则称面积约86平方千米，户籍人口33072人。[2][1]

经济[edit]

镇里提出走「工业立镇、项目兴镇」的路子，主要抓大健康产业与建筑材料产业，以牵牛生化、百澳药业为骨干企业。镇上配合翠山湖生物医药产业专业园建设，规划建设大健康科技产业园；开平牵牛生化制药公司年产250吨生化原料药项目是该专业园的首个入园项目。[1]

农业方面，镇里在全市率先完成一宗「两预两委托」方式的土地流转，并引进农业企业；据该介绍，15个行政村的集体经济经营性收入都已超过10万元。[1] 2026年的报道还提到，大健康科技产业园内一个年产40亿片（粒）制剂的制药项目已奠基开工，棋楠沉香等特色农业项目也在推进。[5]

圩镇老街被改造成「三点三」特色街区，沿街有牛皮牛杂、菠萝包、豆腐角等本地小吃，周末和节假日吸引周边城市的游客。[5]

镇内有一条串联联光村劳培故居、东方村乡间村道和下丽村知青楼的党建观摩路线。下丽知青楼在介绍中被称为广东省保存较完整的知青楼之一。[1]

著名人物[edit]

劳培（1886—1911），祖籍开平，旅居新加坡，1905年加入中国同盟会，1911年4月27日参加黄花岗起义牺牲，列黄花岗七十二烈士之一。镇的介绍称其故居在沙塘镇。[6][1]

镇的介绍还称，明代诗人李江是这里的人，当地称他为「诗伯状元」。[1]

荣誉[edit]

据镇情介绍，2023年沙塘镇获颁广东省信访工作示范乡镇；红岭村入选广东省「百县千镇万村高质量发展工程」首批典型村，东方村创建江门市「美丽庭院」示范村。[1] 2026年的报道则说，下丽村为省「百千万工程」第二批典型村，芙冈村为第三批典型村。[5]
