红岭村是开平市沙塘镇东北部的行政村，距镇约3公里，辖8个村民小组，总人口1348人、363户，耕地1069亩。^[1]

地名由来[edit]

村原名蟹岭村，因建在名叫蟹山的地方而得名；1960年代末改名红岭。^[1]

清代在开平县平康都的范围内，到民国时期归第一区长沙塘乡，1949年后归第十区长沙塘乡。1961年编入苍城公社，名红岭大队，翌年改隶沙塘公社。^[1]

1984年设红岭乡；1992年起隶属沙塘镇，名红岭管理区；1999年定为红岭村民委员会。^[1]

集体收入以石场和山林为主，2009年为16.5万元，人均年收入约6789元；约三成劳动力外出务工。^[1] 2020年8月，红岭村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单（柑橘）。^[1]

2023年11月，红岭村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；镇情介绍还称它被江门市评为抓党建促乡村振兴示范村。^[1]^[2] 2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。^[1]
