下坪村是广东省江门市台山市四九镇的行政村，在镇境北部，周边有上坪、上蓢、下蓢三村和四九圩，离台城约7.5公里。[1]

据镇政府2026年发布的村情简介，全村下设15个村民小组，510户，总人口1850人；村里有中小学、卫生站、文化室和老人会。[1] 四九是台山排球运动的发源地之一，而早年的事迹多发生在下坪：1915年，在外求学的下坪青年回乡传授排球，下坪高等小学也组织学生打球。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期这一带称长安乡，属台山县第1区。1958年成立四九公社下坪大队，1986年起称下坪管理区，1999年改设村委会。[1]

新宁铁路在下坪乡设有下坪站，位于全线里程82.779公里处；铁路拆除后，站址改建为下坪礼堂。[3]

经济[edit]

全村耕地3322亩，水田占2555.26亩，余下766.74亩是旱地。种植业以水稻为主，养殖业以生鱼为主。[1] 村委会年收入41万元，各村民小组合计132万元。[1] 村村通了水泥路，自来水也接到了所有自然村。[1]

文化[edit]

据四九镇政府的介绍，1915年暑假，在广州岭南学院读书的下坪人伍秀民回到家乡，经常约培正学校的学生伍连享、伍廉瑞、黎连盈等一起打球，同时教乡民和学生打排球。伍晋民毕业于广府中学，回乡后到下坪高等小学教书，他酷爱这项运动，便带着学生练球。那时乡间缺少场地器材，青少年就用布或纸扎成球、拿绳子当网，在晒谷场上比赛。[2]
