历史沿革[edit]

明清时这里是清泰乡的明城圩，民国时属高明县一区。1986年11月撤区建镇，原先的“明城镇村委会”改名东门居委会，1999年又改称明城镇居委会，后来成为现在的明城社区[1]。2023年4月，它列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单[1]。
