村情[edit]
区域面积13平方千米，有耕地2447亩、山地约2000亩、鱼塘约800亩，设27个村民小组，其中岗南、岗美两组是三峡移民。常住人口约4500人，外来务工者2000多人。村民靠种菜、养鱼、进厂务工和小生意谋生，集体收入主要来自鱼塘和山地出租[2]。
红色资源[edit]
人民日报客户端2022年7月的报道称，明阳村范围内有三谭革命事迹展览馆和高明区红色廉政文化教育基地，另有红色革命遗址和文物保护单位共38处。2020年，该村被中央组织部、财政部确定为红色美丽村庄建设试点；“红色明阳历史文化街区”于2022年6月25日建成开放，利用老屋改成了书吧、咖啡馆等[3]。谭平山故居也在村内的岗头七社村，2019年5月1日列入第九批广东省文物保护单位[4]。
荣誉[edit]
2025年3月被命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」；2025年5月入选「全国示范性老年友好型社区」创建名单；2023年11月入选「广东‘百千万工程’首批典型县镇村」[1]。
