邓岗社区在里水镇，原称杏溪村，始建于宋代[1]。

村口路旁立有“杏溪古道”石碑，村因此得名杏溪；早先居民姓莫，村后有山岗，改叫莫岗；后来莫氏人丁渐稀，村民以邓姓为主，遂改称邓岗[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期，邓岗曾并入河村，由河村乡管辖；1961年6月称邓岗大队；1999年为邓岗村委会。2011年3月22日，南海区政府作出批复（文号「南府复〔2011〕286号」），撤村委、设社区居民委员会[2]。
