名称由来[edit]
旧称灵洲。开村之初，官船常来往，强拉岸边村民服役，村民为避祸把村子迁到现址。“逢涌”的来历有两说：一说因石塘方向流来的水略带红色，叫“红涌”，后来讹作逢涌；一说因村西几条小涌在此相逢，再汇入西南涌[2]。
历史沿革与人口[edit]
明清属南海县金利司的麻奢堡；民国中后期撤司撤堡，属第二区官窑乡（又称彰善乡）；建国后到土改结束的1953年4月，是第九区（和顺区）象安乡[1]。村委会简介称，村民（本地）2301人，外来者3220人[1]。2022年10月，逢涌村列入淘宝村名单[1]。
