村名取下辖新涌、龙涌两处各一字，同时它也是村民的自治组织。[1]

地理环境[edit]

总面积1.9平方千米；东边是梅圳村，西边是璜矶村，北边是沙咀村，南边挨着上西、下西两村；一条小河流过村中，古榕参天，河涌纵横。[2]
