历史沿革[edit]
相传移民在一处土墩上建村，那里地势高、常年不受水淹，人们视作安居之根本，于是取「墩」的谐音，称为敦根。[1]

农业以水产养殖为主，工业以塑料、五金和食品加工为主，共有企业20多家。[2]
