涂池社区属汕头市澄海区凤翔街道，在澄海城区东南约六公里，曾是坝头镇政府所在地；辖涂池、大坝、三目、娘宫四个自然村，面积1.33平方公里。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地原属外砂乡。1953年同大埔堀合设涂池乡；1959年为坝头人民公社的涂池生产大队；1986年建居委会，隶坝头镇，1998年又称涂池村。[2]坝头镇2002年撤销，涂池划入凤翔街道，改称社区。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区1520户，6884人，村民务农为主，种植花生，1956年国务院授予「花生甲全国」称号，兼营浅海渔业。[3]街道在1992年于此征地建莱美工业区，1993年再建岭海工业区；2009年工业产值近一亿元，农业产值7516万元。[3]
