历史沿革[edit]
传说南宋年间立村，起初是定安和港口两个村，后来合而为一。[2]它原属海阳县下外莆都辟望，澄海建县后（1563年）属澄海县。[2]20世纪30年代设港口乡；1946年同外埔、东湖、信宁和水沟尾（今昆美）组成秀水乡，1949年重又独立为港口村。[2]1956年至1957年，宁美、外埔、港口、东湖四村曾并作信宁乡；1959年成为城关人民公社的港口生产大队。[2]其后经居委会（1986年）到凤翔街道辖下的社区（2002年）。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，社区耕地475亩，1500多户，约6800人；工业以纺织、塑料加工为主，2009年产值10.8亿元，纳税1370万元。[1]社区小学由旅居海外的陈汉华、陈维信、郭柏生、芮树勤等人捐建。[1]
