北港社区属汕头市澄海区凤翔街道，地处韩江支流东溪的出海口，北靠莲阳河，南邻柴井，东与南澳岛相望，面积3.3平方公里，是纯农社区。[1][2]清初这里成为港口，因是流经县城北边河流的出海口，故名北港。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1959年起，北港成为坝头人民公社下的生产大队；1983年11月改设北港乡，三年后又改称北港村，隶坝头镇。[1]2002年坝头镇撤销，辖区划入凤翔街道，北港改称社区，沿用至今。2026年1月，北港获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，社区耕地1476亩，有957户、4316人，是汕头市蔬菜基地，深海捕捞是重要产业。[2]社区曾被评为「全国造林绿化千佳村」。[2]
