五和社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇东南侧，东临大海，辖五个自然村：东宵，南北两半港（半港南、半港北），以及高厝寮、陈厝寮，社区名即取其数。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村志类材料称明嘉靖年间，东宵一带的先民聚居，以讨海为生，后来才有半港、高厝寮、陈厝寮等居住点。1958年起为五和农业生产大队，1984年改作五和乡，1986年建村委会，1988年改叫管理区，1999年又改居民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

简介称社区有1760户、10550人，土地1148亩，属纯农地区，近年种植与养殖较好（简介未注年份）。[1]2023年5月被评为2022年度广东省卫生村；2019年9月，列入2018年度省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
