华东村在汕头市潮阳区河溪镇华阳片的东面，是出自旧华阳村的行政村之一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，北宋末年祖先到此建村，名华阳村，包括东陇、西陇、南陇、上陇、华东五个聚落，村民在下地寨内居住，后来逐步扩展为华东村。[1]此后建制几经变化：1958年为幸福公社下的华东农业生产大队，1984年改乡，1988年改管理区，1999年定为华东村委会。[1]村名取自在华阳片东面。[2]

经济[edit]

村里有2135户、10668人，耕地1678亩，山地2140亩；在外有三十多支建筑施工队，从业者约两千二百人，收入主要靠建筑务工和耕种，人均纯收入在2013年为4047元（人口数该页未注明年份）。[1]
