西田村在汕头市潮阳区河溪镇桑田片区，北临榕江出海口，西与西胪镇乌石村相隔，以养殖虾蟹为主，所产蟹称“桑田膏蟹”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名取“沧海变桑田”之意，因在桑田村西部而名。[2]村中有一座名“屿”的小丘陵，先人以它为界，分成屿东社、屿西社两寨，沿用至今。[1]
